30 Day Message History

Post date: Friday, March 27, 2020 - 14:54

We received a notification from the City today that all fields/parks will remain shut through the end of April.  Given our schedule and the fact that Damon Garcia shuts down for maintenance in May, this effectively cancels our season.  We will leave the website set to "Games Are Off" to help keep things clear.

We had already credited you for this week this morning before getting the notification, so you will see that credit as well as one for the remaining five games.

We will send a notification out once we open registration for the first summer session at Calpoly some time in May.  We look forward to seeing you all out on the fields in June.

Hello Sheltering-In-Place-Soccer-Players!

If you're as bored with our current situation as I am, you might be looking to do something to help the community out. One of our long-time CCSoccer players is Steve Davis, who is also involved with the SLO Food Bank has brought this opportunity to our attention. So many of regular the Food Bank volunteers are seniors who are definitely hunkering down right now. The Food Bank is worried they will not have enough hands to get the work done. If you are interested and have time to help out, go here: https://slofoodbank.volunteerhub.com/account/signin and create an account so you can sign up for shifts. Check back regularly as with everything right now, it is ever-changing.

Stay safe!

Due to the ongoing concerns of spreading COVID-19 the city has temporarily shut down all field/park use.  The initial timeline is through the end of March, but obviously this situation will require what it requires so it could be longer.  We'll be checking in with them so we can provide updates and let you know when games are back on.  The website game status will remain "Games Are Off" until we get confirmation and then we'll flip it and send out a notification.  For the duration of this shutdown we'll be crediting everyone's account each Friday starting this coming one.

Hopefully we get to play sooner than later, but obviously everyone's playing this as safe as possible.  After this season we'll have our break until the turf fields at Calpoly are available; keep your eyes out for a notification when registration starts.

Coed & Mens35 March - April seasons start this week; Coed tomorrow at 6pm and Mens35 Thursday at 6pm.

For anyone new, be sure to check the schedule to find your game times (indicated by a soccer ball) as well as your color for each week.  We will bring jersey sets the first couple weeks, there will be a red and a white jersey in the bag.  Also, this first week, we'll circle up before the game and review the rules and spirit of CCSoccer.  Note: shinguards and cleats are required for safety reasons.
